Sterling Commerce, an AT&T company, says its Gentran Integration Suite has now been certified by GS1 Australia for interoperability with suppliers and manufacturers using GS1net.
 

Vulcan said a total of 108 member organisations in 155 countries were now authorised to administer the GS1 System of standards, which he said was the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world.

“As one of just a few locally-based organisations to gain GS1net certification in the Australasia data pool for grocery, liquor and health, we look forward to continuing to deliver optimal supply chain solutions which boost efficiency, remove unnecessary costs and result in greater customer satisfaction.

“This certification is further validation of our commitment to take the risk out of our customers’ software deployment decisions.
 
“Products that have been granted GS1net Certified status have proven that they have the capability to support the loading and maintenance of the GS1net data set. Suppliers electronically upload product data to GS1net which is published in a standardised format for the buyer to electronically download into their own merchandising or purchasing system.”

According to Vulcan, this resulted in significant supply chain efficiencies and trading cycle accuracy by removing cost from the order management process and eliminating manual intervention to correct incompatible data errors, and GS1net also ensured ongoing data integrity through a verification layer featuring an extra set of validation rules.

John Hearn, general manager for GS1 Australia services group said the Gentran Integration Suite provided a standards-based integration platform that allowed organisations to cost-effectively create and manage flexible business processes spanning internal and external organisational boundaries.
