Lifetime Key Management provides for the central management of encryption keys even when the protected data must be stored for years. The Common Criteria agreement provides for the consistent testing of security products so that the results are recognised by each of the participating governments. EAL 4 (Evaluation Assurance Level 4) indicates that the product has been methodically designed, tested and reviewed. EAL 4+ means that a product meets and goes beyond the minimum requirements of EAL 4. Few commercial products are certified at EAL 5 or higher.
