BMC Software, with worldwide revenues of $1.86 billion, is boosting its business development efforts in the Australian and New Zealand markets and says it’s confident of growth in its Australian business despite the tough economic conditions.

Announcing two new senior appointments to the Australian team, BMC country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Gary Mitchell, said the company’s Australian business continued to grow and he expected to see further growth opportunities with the need for IT automation and efficiency more prevalent than ever.

BMC has announced that Joely Scott-Thomas has been promoted to regional sales manager for Australia North and New Zealand while Sandrina Branton has joined the company as the regional sales manager for Australia South.

Mitchell said Joely joined BMC in 1999 and had held various senior sales and leadership positions, most recently regional sales manager for service, and had played a major part in establishing BMC as a key player in the enterprise software market both locally and regionally.

Branton joins BMC from Compuware where she was southern region sales manager having previously held senior sales management positions at IBM and Spectrum Software.

“By hiring key talent and continuing to promote high performing staff, we believe we have the right talent to further our growth and strength throughout ANZ,” Mitchell said.
