Halo Wars versus Killzone 2 bundles E-mail

Come February 26th there are choices to be made for those without consoles but wanting the bundle that is right for them.  Do I go Killzone 2 with a PS3 or Halo Wars with the Xbox 360?

...or do we keep on waiting?  Perhaps an even better Nintendo Wii bundle is around the corner?  [Hint] Don't hold your breath on that one.

On February 26 the store shelves receive two massive exclusive console titles.  Many a Sony and Microsoft exec will be pinning hopes on these releases breathing extra sales life into their respective platforms.

As such – bundling is the marketing ploy of choice.

The Sony PlayStation 3 will offer a Killzone 2 bundle.  In Australia this amounts to shoving a copy of the grim first person shooter game (normally AU$109.00) into the only PS3 model on the market, the 80GB non-backwards compatible.

So for AU$699.00 RRP, you get the blu-ray, wi-fi enabled 80GB PS3 and a Dual Shock 3 controller.  That controller will be the only thing that stands between you, the Helghast and a grimy death.  Good luck.

If the more god-like action of an real time strategy game set in the Halo universe is more your cup of tea – or AU$699.00 might be a bit steep right now.  Then there is the Xbox 360 option.

Microsoft have today announced a multitude of options in picking up a shiny (well, not as shiny as a PS3 perhaps) Xbox 360 with some Halo Wars goodness included.

For a months starting on February 26th, each Xbox 360 sold will include a copy of the game.

So right from the harddriveless Xbox 360 Arcade at AU$299.00 past the Xbox 360 (60GBHDD) at AU$399.00 and on to the Xbox 360 Elite (120GBHDD) at AU$549.00, all will include a copy of Halo Wars until March 26th.
