HTC's Android Dream debuts on Optus E-mail

Was HTC thinking of Philip K Dick when it (excuse the pun) dreamed up for the name for its first Android phone that made its Australian debut this week on the Optus network?

Science fiction writer Dick, of course, wrote that famous short story "Do androids dream of electric sheep", translated to the silver screen by Ridley Scott as "Blade Runner".

Just a thought. But back to the Optus Android phone, the HTC Dream. It will be available from 16 February on a range of Optus plans that start at $59 per month. Prices for the handset range from $3 per month on a 24 month, $129 per month plan to $51 per month on a  12 month $59  per month plan. You can find full details at www.optus.com/dream

The phone has been on sale in other markets for some time and iTWire has already reported on its feature s.
