Connections and iNotes are said to be 'coming soon', but no release dates were mentioned. "With LotusLive, we are brining 20 years of experience in collaboration to the cloud," said Bob Picciano, general manager, IBM Lotus software. "We believe our open, integrated platform will dramatically simplify and improve the way businesses interact with their partners and customers. With this offering we're taking Lotus to more people, in more places, than ever before." An important feature of LotusLive is the integration with desktop software such as Lotus Notes. Big names joining with IBM in announcing plans to integrate existing their services with LotusLive include LinkedIn (professional networking), Salesforce.com (CRM) and Skype (voice and video calling). For example, Skype intends to provide a click-to-call facility from a LotusLive contact record. Other companies announcing LotusLive integration include iEnterprises which says it will provide two-way synchronisation between its Empower CRM product and the IBM offering. |
