Sydney – December 18th, 2008 – Leading eDiscovery solution provider Nuix has been named as the New South Wales state finalist in the 2009 Innovation Shootout, to take place in January in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley. Nuix, based in Sydney, was established in 2000 and now produces some of the world’s most advanced solutions for eDiscovery and electronic investigations, which are of growing importance in both litigation practice and for compliance with new governmental corporate regulations. Its technology is used by leading law enforcement agencies, consulting firms, regulators, and litigation support companies. Nuix’s technology has been demonstrated to process large amounts of data at speeds up to 40 times faster than competitors, and with a far more powerful and precise search capability. Its enterprise solutions cost significantly less than outsourcing eDiscovery and electronic investigation work to litigation support or consulting firms. “Litigation and compliance costs are rising at a rapid pace, regardless of the recent economic downturn,” said Eddie Sheehy, Nuix’s CEO. “We believe that the time is right for our groundbreaking technology to truly revolutionize the U.S. marketplace.” The Innovation Shootout is sponsored by the six State Governments of Australia, each of which chooses a local company that has developed a cutting edge technological advancement as its state finalist. Finalists will give presentations about their companies on January 13th during the Innovation Fast Pitch, taking place at the Business Technology Center, run by the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles. They will then travel to the Bay Area to participate in the Innovation Shootout on January 15th at the Quadras Conference Center in Menlo Park. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges including technology experts, members of the media, and venture capitalists. “The Government of New South Wales is thrilled to have Nuix representing our state in the Innovation Shootout,” said Barry Buffier, director general of the New South Wales Department of State and Regional Development. “New South Wales has a history of producing exciting new innovations, and Nuix is one of the latest examples of that tradition.” Journalists interested in trialing Nuix’s products for themselves should contact Bryce Keane at (03) 9626 2423 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to arrange a demonstration.
