Avaya Confers DevConnect Compliant Awards to RAD Data Communications E-mail
Wednesday, 17 December 2008
Avaya, whose solutions for IP telephony, unified communications, contact centers, and communications-enabled business processes are used by more than one million businesses worldwide, has presented a series of its DevConnect Compliant Awards to RAD Data Communications, the global manufacturer of innovative voice and data solutions for mobile and fixed-line carriers, service providers and enterprise networks.

Avaya’s DevConnect program promotes the development, testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products that are compatible with standards-based Avaya solutions. As a result, Avaya customers have access to a wide range of technical resources, know-how and tools, enabling them to dramatically improve the value of their intelligent communications solutions.

“With this successful compliance testing, Avaya provides customers the assurance of successful product interoperability,” stated Robert J. Lesniak, Senior Business Development Manager for Avaya’s DevConnect Program. “By continuing to pursue improvements in product integration, we offer a more cost effective, integrated solution to our customers.”

Voice Trunking Gateways and Pseudowire Access Gateways
RAD’s Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway, Vmux-210 analog voice trunking gateway and compressed channel bank, Vmux-110 remote trunking gateway, and its IPmux TDM pseudowire access gateways have all successfully completed compliance testing with Avaya gateways.

“Given that networks increasingly are comprised of products manufactured by different vendors, interoperability is crucial,” explains Ron Agam, Director of Product Management at RAD Data Communications. “Avaya’s DevConnect Compliant Awards are emblematic of RAD’s commitment to ensure maximum interoperability across its product lines.”

RAD’s Vmux voice trunking solutions reduce the amount of bandwidth required for voice transmission by up to 16 to 1. This translates into a significant reduction in operating expenses (Opex), especially over long distance and international lines, while maintaining toll-quality voice, without compromising signaling, fax and telephony features.

The company’s IPmux family employs pseudowire encapsulation as the enabler for migrating legacy communications services to economical, higher-bandwidth packet-switched networks. RAD is the industry’s pseudowire pioneer, having first introduced its patented TDMoIP® pseudowire technology to the market in 1999.
