Bebo Social Inbox unites disparate feeds E-mail

A new feature of AOL's Bebo social media network allows users to gather together diverse aspects of their online life. The Social Inbox unites various feeds and mail services.

What's the old chestnut? "The great thing about standards are that there are so many of them to choose from."

So it is in the wide world of Web 2.0. All that user-generated content, and so many different feeds.

Your colleague uses Twitter so you know he's still in the queue at the sandwich bar.

Your brother-in-law uses Flickr so you can see the latest photos of your nieces.

You take advantage of the collective wisdom of a few kajillion Delicious or Digg users to help decide which web pages to read.

You've got a Gmail account and a Yahoo! Mail account. (Hey, there are some parts of your life that you really need to keep separate, right?)

And like a growing number of people, you don't want to manage all this stuff with desktop applications as you're never sure when you'll be using someone else's computer.

AOL subsidiary Bebo reckons it has the answer: find out what it is on page 2.
