The user logs in to their personal 28TEL account and adds a Skype contact to their contacts list, which then gets assigned a local number. If the contact is online, the user can dial the mapped local telephone number with their mobile phone and gets charged the local rate from their mobile service provider. At this time, the 28TEL service, which is in beta, is free and only available to users in North America, Brazil and selected Asian countries, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the Philippines. |
