Windows 7 6956 VHD converted to ISO already! E-mail

Of course, whether or not this is the build that will end up as the official beta is unknown, but if not, it is certainly going to be very close to that final official beta build.

Also, given that Apple will be holding its Macworld 2009 conference with Steve Jobs, one can only wonder if the rumours that Snow Leopard, AKA OS X 106, will also either be released early, or will get a great preview which is designed to sully the launch of the Windows 7 official beta.

The next few weeks will see speculation mount enormously over the plans of Apple and Microsoft in the lead up to Macworld 2009 and the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) respectively.

There's also speculation over whether or not some "surprises" will be left in store for Steve Ballmer to demo. After all, if his demonstration shows little more than what was already shown at the PDC (Professional Developers Conference) from October 2008, it will be quite a boring demo - at least for developers and technologically savvy users who are already using Windows 7 6801 or now the 6956 builds.

The thing is, what surprises can Microsoft install before the official beta is launched? Whatever surprises there may be won't have been heavily tested by the masses of 6801 users at all. That said, a beta is a beta, and if new features, especially cool ones to surprise us all, are launched, the beta period is the best place to test them. That's what betas are for.

For anyone bothering to download the 6956 "hacked" ISO, from the VHD of the 6956 build stolen from the WinHEC conference in China, there's one question you'll need to ask yourself: do you trust Chinese hackers?

No-one yet knows if any malware has been injected into the ISO, so anyone downloading it will surely be hoping that is not the case.

More details and the location of the Windows 7 6956 ISO DVD can be found at MyDigitalLife - or at torrent sites. Good luck - and remember, iTWire does not condone piracy in any shape or form, be it of the software, the Somali or the Jack Sparrow kind.
