"We hope customers who only have access to Telstra ADSL2+ ports will appreciate the option to move up to an Internode-provided ADSL2+ service at last," said Internode MD Simon Hackett. The deal will also allow Internode to offer conventional PSTN line rental using Telstra's copper network. "We look forward to offering all our customers the option of a single Internode bill for their line rental, their phone calls and their broadband services from April 2009," said Hackett. Pricing will not be revealed until the services are launched. Prior to mid-2008, Telstra appeared extremely reluctant to wholesale ADSL2+ its services. At the time the telecommunications giant revealed it was preparing to offer such services, some commentators suggested it was part of the company's strategy to forestall the imposition of structural separation. Other ISPs including People Telecom and WestNet have already announced they are or will be offering Telstra's ADSL2+ service to their customers.
