Victorian Real Estate Technology First:

Agent Ray White Mordialloc and Webtron Online Auction

Melbournians’ love of the live dynamic street ‘theatre style’ auctions has helped make Melbourne the property auction capital of the world. A new technology development means Melbourne auctions are now available to anyone in the world to ‘bid’ online  for the first time.

Next month, Ray White Mordialloc is teaming up with online auction pioneers Webtron Online Auction to be able to offer clients traditional onsite auctions integrated with live online bidding.

This development will herald an exciting new dimension for future property auctions.

The online feature will enhance the auction process by providing an opportunity to experience the auction in real time without having to physically be present at the event, thereby providing convenience and anonymity for bidders and vendors.

“This auction innovation is a big step as online buyers will have the opportunity to not only participate in an auction, but for Auctioneers to accept their bids.

It offers an electronic evolution to the auction system, in an industry that has accepted the advances of web marketing in the past decade. It is a very exciting industry development. And the interest from vendors has been fantastic as they immediately see the benefits of making their auction more widely available” said Greg Scherwinski, Director at Ray White Mordialloc.

 New innovations include:

  • For the first time bidders online will join bidder’s onsite.
  • Via a login, online bidders have a simple dashboard
  • Featuring live bidding, streaming video and audio direct from the live auction.
  • Bidders at the auction will view all bids updated on a large LCD monitor.

This will mark a dramatic shift in the auction process and provide the Online Auction as a complete package for the first time.
