Cox joined Microsoft in 1992, where he worked as a divisional CIO and also ran the company’s Pacific Northwest operations. He subsequently held senior positions with Microsoft in Japan and Australia, where he was General Manager of Sales until 2006. Cox was most recently CEO for News Corporation subsidiary, True Local. Cox said EMC was now targeting the SMB market for expansion which results in EMC evolving its service offerings to ensure scale and reach. This will involve stronger alignment with partners and its Global Services division in the ANZ market. “I am delighted to join EMC at a time when organizations are seeking to extract more business value and productivity from their information assets,” said Cox. “I look forward to assisting companies across Australia and New Zealand to plan, build, manage, and support every stage of the information lifecycle. A key plank of our growth in our services business will stem from deeper relationships with our existing partners and also securing alliances with other providers in the enterprise technology market.” |
