5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
Given that it’s only a point upgrade and not an entirely new OS, such as an iPhone 3.0, the rumoured new features are more evolutionary than revolutionary, but this is to be expected. Those wanting features such as cut and paste, notes synchronisation or a proper Bluetooth stack implementation are likely to once again be disappointed, but given Apple’s stance on these issues it seems clear, at least for something like cut and paste, that Apple is waiting for its next major OS update and likely new iPhone version before we’ll see these features – if at all. So, what’s new? Well, anyone following the rumour trail over the past few weeks won’t be too surprised. The biggest new feature for many is likely to be the fact that Google’s Maps application will now get the Street View feature, something computer users in many countries are now well accustomed to. Indeed, it’s a strikingly handy feature – I had to give a presentation to a computer user group at a venue and suburb last week that I’d never been to before, and thanks to Street View I knew exactly what I’d be looking for when I arrived, which made recognising the destination on arrival so much easier and more satisfying. Having that capability in the iPhone will be very welcome to many. MacRumors and iPhoneHellas.gr have outlined the other features which have appeared in many recent articles, and these are on page 2. |
