Meanwhile, Sony’s PS3 is a next-gen powerhouse all its own that still has the benefit of Blu-ray up its sleeve plus a host of high end features all its own that consistently give the Xbox 360 a run for its money. But now with the PS3 the most expensive console in Australia, cash conscious Australians may well be thinking twice over which console to buy, with the Xbox 360 now more affordable than before. Will Nintendo finally drop its prices even a little to compete? Will Sony let the PS3 remain the most expensive console in Australia? There’s still plenty of time for robust responses from Nintendo and Sony if they so desire, although I think if there will be any response we’ll see it sooner rather than later. So, even in Alan Greenspan's "age of turbulence", the golden age of gaming looks set to continue shining for some time yet! |
