A British neuroscientist and bioengineer is conducting research into what he calls the “Jennifer Aniston neuron.” He says the research helps scientists to analyze the workings of the brain (to literally read the mind). I hope his wife understands his work is merely for the sake of scientific advancement!Featured Whitepaper

Science DiscussionsRodrigo Quian Quiroga, from the Department of Engineering at the University of Leicester, is presenting his scientific findings at a public presentation on the campus of the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. The lecture entitled “The Jennifer Aniston neuron: How the brain perceives the world and forms new memories” is open to the general public. There is no cost to attend the lecture. If you are in the area, the lecture will be held in the Lecture Theatre 1, Ken Edwards Building, University of Leicester, at 5:30 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, November 4, 2008. It is not announced whether Ms. Aniston will attend the function, but the likelihood is that she will not be there. The conclusion of Dr. Quiroga’s research is that a neuron in the brain goes off when pictures of famous people, such as Jennifer Aniston, are shown to a person. In the Medical News Today article “Picture This? Professor Unveils Research On 'Jennifer Aniston Neuron' - Brain Function Described In Public Lecture, University Of Leicester," it was written that this neuron is activated in an “abstract” manner and that his research team was able to analyze the neuron’s actions to literally read the mind of the participants. To see if your neuron takes a spin around your brain (of course, in order to verify his conclusions of the research), go to Jennifer Aniston’s website: http://www.jenaniston.net/. Please read page two for more on Jennifer Aniston, oh, also, on Dr. Quiroga's research. |
