Microsoft understand the importance of the upcoming release of Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360.  So to build the hype, and reward faithful Gear heads, Microsoft are offering the chance to win over 2 million Microsoft points.

From the 17th October till the launch of Gears of War 2 on the 7th November, a new Microsoft Australia promotion will be under way.

The Xbox 360 LIVE promotion will reward one Gears of War multi-player gamer each day with 100,000 Microsoft points and a signed poster from Gears 2 design director Cliff Bleszinski.

That's 2.2 million Microsoft points over the 22 days of mayhem.  Fans that play 22 games of Gears of War multi-player from today til November 7th will be able to enter the draw for the major prize, which is an Xbox 360-themed UTE along with some Gears of War 2 art images from Epic Games.  If they are still alive by the end of it.

“22 Days of Mayhem is a call to arms for Gears of War fans to play multi-player in anticipation for the launch of Gears of War 2,” said Andrew Jenkins, Product Marketing Manager, games & LIVE, Microsoft. “We know Australian gamers love to play Gears of War and we want to reward fans who are playing the game in anticipation of the upcoming sequel.”

Gears of War 2 hits shelves on November 7th.  As is the way of these things the game arrives in two editions.  The standard edition will set you back AU$99.95 whilst the limited edition will reduce a wallet to the tune of AU$119.95

Woo-hoo a Ute!
