Page 1 of 2 Alan's responsibilities include communicating IBM's SOA messages and capabilities to IBM clients, partners and employees around the world. Alan is a frequent speaker at many industry conferences worldwide on such topics as SOA, IBM Software, IBM Servers, virtualization, autonomic computing, and On Demand Business.
He has been very active in promoting the use of the web for business for over a dozen years. Alan led IBM's worldwide mainframe e-business technical support function, working with some of the largest companies to enable their mainframes for real business over the internet. He also has worked as a liaison between IBM and SAP to implement the electronic ordering and fulfilment capabilities required by IBM. And, in the early days of the web, Alan led a pioneering group who started to sell and deliver IBM software over the web.
