Global leader in ITIL Education announces formal recognition of quality service delivery
Reading, UK – October 8, 2008. Pink Elephant UK today announced that it has been successfully assessed and accredited by the Institute of IT Training having demonstrated its “commitment to high quality and process improvement in the provision of IT Training”. The Institute of IT is the world's first professional body for IT training professionals and is the leading authority throughout the UK and Europe on IT training and development.
Pink Elephant has been delivering IT Service Management Education since the inception of the IT Infrastructure library. As the first organisation to develop and introduce the ITIL Foundation course, firstly in Holland and then in the UK, Pink Elephant was also the first company to develop and introduce the single process ITIL Practitioner range of courses, plus the first to develop and launch the multi-process Practitioner Courses. The company retains a high level of experience: Ron Beales, who is still with the organisation, wrote the original IT Service Support and Delivery courses and co-presented the pilot sessions with the Civil Service College.
With over 30 years of IT Service experience, Pink Elephant has a long history of aiding the development of the IT Service Management market on a global basis.
Pink Elephant contributed to version 1 and 2 of the IT Infrastructure library, was selected to manage the re-write of the IT Service Support set of ITIL books delivered in 2000, and also authored the ITIL v3 volume – Continual Service Improvement.
So why accreditation now? Alan McCarthy, Regional Director for Pink Elephant EMEA, explains: “The reason for applying for accreditation at this point in time was to demonstrate that Pink Elephant’s commitment to high quality service delivery is still critical to our success. The ITIL market has exploded over the past few years and large numbers of training organisations, individuals, and IT Service providers now purport to be ‘experts’ in the field”. He continues: “Achieving a prestigious external accreditation supports our position of being a quality education provider. An independent validation and perspective enables the company to build on its core strengths and identifies opportunities for continual service improvement”.
The benefit to the customers is the assurance that Pink Elephant conforms to a professional Code of Practice, and that the marketing of the company is honest, verifiable and accurately represents the services offered. With a rigorous internal “Train the Trainer” programme, fully accredited materials and lecturers, Pink Elephant is also confident that it is delivering to the standards required by our customers.
