There is a whole series of Advance Wars titles for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, and an online version, and the most serious of players take them all very seriously indeed. Take Matt Pyke who was a forum administrator at the popular Wars Central fan site, and regular poster David Heiss for example. The nature of that disagreement remains unknown as the forum is closed to new members for now and existing members are not talking to the media. “We may know a lot of what was going on prior to the killing, but I, for one, am not going to say any more” an anonymous Wars Central poster is quoted as saying in one report. However, it would appear that the exchange was emotional enough to cause Eagle the Lightning to travel from his native Germany to confront 20 year old Pyke, also known as Shade to forum members. Certainly, Pyke ended up stabbed to death at his home. Certainly, after posting a message to Pyke's girlfriend Jo on Facebook apologising for "having caused so much trouble lately" police suspicion was aroused. German police arrested Heiss soon after, and he now awaits questioning by UK detectives if extradition is agreed. "He was arrested by officers from the West-Hessen police headquarters in Hunfelden on suspicion that on 19 September he killed a man in Nottingham with a knife" a statement by Limburg-Weilburg police reads. Meanwhile, the Wars Central site remains closed "due to recent events" and a message posted by forum admin 'eggy' states that guests are no longer allowed to view forums in order to "protect the privacy of our members, especially that of Jo, Matt and his friends." "Matt, you were a great friend, and a great man. I'm not normally at a loss for words, but this is something where I just cannot speak. I cannot image this place without you. You touched so many hearts. I hope whoever did this to you is brought to justice swiftly" eggy says.
