Firefox is most easily updated by using the browser's Check for Updates command. Various localisations of Firefox 3.0.2 can be downloaded here. Camino is a Mac OS X specific browser based on the Mozilla Gecko engine but with the look-and-feel and support for system-specific features that Mac users expect. Version 1.6.4 includes the new version of Gecko as used in Firefox 2, and also displays expiration dates for Certificate Authorities in its Certificates window. Other changes include improved compatibility with OmniWeb and improved ad blocking. You can download Camino 1.6.4 here. A second beta of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 was released late last month, and Apple's Safari was last updated in June as part of Mac OS X 10.5.4 and Security Update 2008-004 for Mac OS X 10.4.11. Although Apple does not classify security flaws, changes affecting Safari addressed issues that could lead to arbitrary code execution and would therefore be regarded as critical. |
