ExitReality has just been released as a public beta. In this interview, CEO Danny Stefanic discusses the product's rationale, development and potential for 3D enhancement of both personal or enterprise web sites or blogs.

After a gestation lasting quite a few years, ExitReality has just been released into public beta.

Fellow iTWire writer Alex Zaharov-Reutt as written an end-user critique of ExitReality, with some interesting comments by iTWire readers.

I'm not going to go over the same ground. Instead, you'll find an audio interview with the Danny Stefanic, the founder and CEO of ExitReality.

He says that ExitReality aims to "turn the entire Web into a 3D-inhabitable environment" and that, importantly, it was architected to do this in an open-standards-compliant way.

My intention --  wearing the cap of a software designer, developer and salesperson, plus webmaster and blogger -- was to have Danny explain what lies behind ExitReality's conception, architecture and development, and how its general capabilities were crafted.

Listen here to the interview with Danny and find out answers to questions like:

  • - At whom is ExitReality aimed? Individuals, enterprises, both?
  • - As there are other 3D capabilities available on the Web, what's unique about ExitReality?
  • - What are the benefits of adopting the 3D approach on your blog or web site, and what is the business case?
  • - Why was ExitReality developed in Australia (rather than, say, Silicon Valley)?
  • - Is ExitReality suitable for all sites? Who's already using ExitReality and who's showing interest?
  • - What new opportunities present themselves to website/blog owners it they adopt the ExitReality 3D approach?

I hope that you find the interview interesting and revealing.

Have some fun with a challenge or two that I've devised for you!
