Abingdon, United Kingdom, 18 September 2008 – Toumaz Technology
Limited, the leading provider of ultra-low power wireless
infrastructure for body monitoring solutions, today announces that it
will present its vision for the future of digital medicine solutions at
Oracle OpenWorld 2008 – the world's largest professional IT conference
(Moscone Center, San Francisco, September 21st – 25th 2008). Toumaz
Technology CEO Keith Errey will be delivering a key insight into the
future of end-to-end digital healthcare systems in a conference session
on Monday 22nd September at 13:00pm (Session No S298848, Westin SF Market Street,
Room Metropolitan III). Delegates and visitors will also have the
opportunity to attend a presentation given by Toumaz at its booth
within the Embedded Pavilion, where it will also be demonstrating its
Sensium™ system for intelligent wireless body monitoring (Embedded
Pavilion, Moscone West, Booth 3116).
Oracle OpenWorld is the largest gathering of Oracle customers, partners, developers, and technology enthusiasts. This year's event features a comprehensive Embedded Pavilion offering sessions, hands-on labs, demos, and exhibitions. The Embedded Pavilion will showcase Oracle's leading partners and featuring a mini-theater with ongoing presentations about Oracle's embedded products, plus presentations by partners embedding Oracle technology.
Toumaz’s presentation will explore how technology convergence is set to unleash a monumental change in medicine and healthcare delivery, enabling healthcare providers to meet the enormous challenges of rising elder populations and the management of chronic disease. Central to the realisation of this “digital medicine” vision and the implementation of end-to-end systems is Toumaz’s breakthrough Sensium sensor interface and transceiver platform, which enables the human body to be monitored continuously, wirelessly, intelligently and at low cost – with the robustness and medical compliance normally associated with considerably more expensive capital equipment. Using new embedded products from Oracle that run on hand-held or simple remote terminals, real-time physiological information acquired and processed by body-worn Sensium-enabled wireless monitors can be automatically synchronized with electronic health or patient records. This end-to-end system provides the foundation for a total patient care package, with the potential to revolutionise health and lifestyle management.
In December 2006, Toumaz was awarded first prize at the 5th Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Innovation Award for Europe, Middle East and Africa. The award from Oracle was made in recognition of the outstanding innovation of the Sensium platform. Toumaz Technology is a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
