TANDBERG® (OSLO: TAA. OL), a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition video conferencing and mobile video solutions, today announced the appointment of Matthew Hanmer as Healthcare Business Manager based in Sydney.

Hanmer joins TANDBERG with more than ten years’ experience in the IT industry and will be responsible for spearheading growth and development of the organisation’s Tele-Health Solutions across New South Wales which will assist medical professionals to improve patient care.

Hanmer was previously with Hewlett Packard as Services Account Manager with responsibility for all of the company’s service offerings in the public sector.  During his four years with Hewlett Packard, he also lead a team of consultants in providing integrated services solutions and project management.

He previously was Sales Director with IT infrastructure solutions company, Adnet Technology, where he was responsible for identifying new business, managing clients in the public, manufacturing and financial services sectors, and working closely with the organisation’s partners to develop joint market opportunities.

Prior, he was Business Development Director for independent research company, Forrester Research, where he held responsibility for new business development, marketing and account management.

“Matthew has a great base of knowledge about both the healthcare and public sector’s unique communications’ needs, and I am excited he will be putting it to work for TANDBERG in New South Wales.  In addition, he will increase our ability to service new and existing clients in one of our fastest growing market sectors, said Philip Siefert, Regional Director, Australia and New Zealand, TANDBERG.

TANDBERG Tele-Health solutions have been successfully integrated into a variety of telemedicine programs to address applications such as: Teleconsultation or incorporating video conferencing technologies into traditional clinic visits; Telementoring which links two medical professionals to join together for interactive instruction during an actual patient procedure or for face-to-face mentoring without direct patient interaction; Administrative Meetings to link staff from various business locations; and Continuing Medical Education enabling general access to specialised medical knowledge, resource sharing and knowledge transfer.
