Behold the 4th-gen iPod nano and bask in the orange glow E-mail

Well, for a start, more iPod nano colours would make sense. Given that this photo shows a bold orange colour, perhaps Apple are moving away from the pastel colours of the current generation.

There’s also talk of iTunes 8, which may or may not be coming with an iTunes music subscription option, while Windows users eternally hope that any new iTunes will feature performance and memory usage improvements.

Talk of a 2nd-gen iPod Touch has also filtered across the webwaves, with desires expressed for 64GB of memory and more.

iFans also want to see a redesigned MacBook make an appearance, while the MacBook Touch is also something we’d like to see.

A 32GB iPhone 3G could also be on the cards, giving an extra boost to iPhone 3G sales while giving Apple the opportunity of dropping the price on the 8GB model even further to eat into the sales of competing smartphones.

What other surprises Steve Jobs has in store for us all is yet to be seen, which could even include the words “one more thing”, something we haven’t heard for a while!

Although given that Macworld 2009 is but four months away, perhaps “one more thing” won’t make an appearance until then. We shall see!

In the meantime, I feel sorry for anyone not up with the news buying a new iPod this weekend, because whether the orange iPod pic is real not not, new iPods are on the way, and no-one likes having their purchase made fashionably obsolete in the space of a few days!
