Page 7 of 9 Firstly, there's visitor distances, measured from my nominal location in Melbourne, Australia (although that's not at all where the website and blog servers are, they all happen to be at widely spread locations in the USA, which after all is where the bulk of my site's visitors are):
Hand-in-hand with the above, we have visitor time zones -- relative to Melbourne, Australia, where the non-daylight-saving time is 10 hours ahead of UTC (a.k.a. GMT):
Of course for most purposes it doesn't matter at all where you are on the globe, as long as you can connect up! Hey, let's not forget about the visitors' spoken languages:
The minor figures fluctuate rather wildly from one day to the next, but it certainly looks as if English is still the Lingua Franca of the Web, at least for visitors to my own sites. PLEASE READ ON...
