A fridge with an iPod dock? Are they kidding? Domestic appliance manufacturer Gorenje has revealed a 'Made for iPod' fridge.

Apple's got a nice little business going as far as licensing the iPod dock connector is concerned. Items such as boom boxes, alarm clocks and car integration systems are commonplace.

And now we have the iPod fridge. Gorenje used Berlin's IPA 2008 trade fair to unveil a fridge freezer with an iPod dock and speakers on the front door. The appliance is finished in glossy black to match the iPhone or iPod touch - does that mean the era of stainless steel or titanium kitchens is coming to an end?

How useful this is depends largely on whether your kitchen is simply the place where you prepare food or a living area.

If a radio or CD player just doesn't do it for you any more, an AirPort Express with a pair of powered speakers might be a better idea as it would give access to your entire music library if it won't all fit on the iPod or iPhone, and you could still control playback using Apple's Remote program from the App Store.
