First up is the Activision Blizzard version of The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor. Set to hit Australian screens on September 11th, the game version on PS2 and Nintendo DS has already shipped with the Nintendo Wii slated for September 3rd. From the release: In The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, a third-person action-adventure video game, players will take on the heroic roles of Rick O'Connell and his son, Alex (played by Brendan Fraser and Luke Ford, respectively, in the film). Gamers will follow the explorers on their harrowing journey - across exotic locations from the catacombs of ancient China to spectacular Himalayan peaks - to defeat the vicious Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his reawakened terracotta servants. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor allows players to switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks. It also features a fast and fluid combat system and an extensive arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies players will face during their journey. Fans of the film will fight their way through the Mummy universe by utilising combat, puzzle-solving and hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements throughout. Next up is the 3D remake of the 1959 movie of the classic book by Jules Vernes’ Journey to the Center of the Earth. THQ want us to tap our Nintendo DS touch screens all the way to the middle of the planet. From the release: Based on the film version of the classic novel, gamers will assume the role of Trevor, Sean and Hannah, who are trapped inside a mysterious cave after a mystical storm. Explore exotic worlds, navigate rock slides, ride a runaway mine cart, surf a savage river and survive encounters with terrifying creatures as the heroes work to discover a new passageway to the Earth’s surface. Look for Journey to the Center of the Earth from September 11th. ![]() |
