Xbox 360 slapped back down in Japan E-mail

Well given that the console supplies were exhausted in the country, it is not surprising that sales of the Microsoft Xbox 360 console in Japan have reverted to bottom of the heap.

For the week ending August 10th, Microsoft managed a respectable (if not amazing) tally of 25,000 Xbox 360's shipped to Japanese homes.

This on the back of the JRPG exclusive Tales of Vesperia, with the result that many retail outlets reported that the Xbox 360 had sold out, with fresh supplies not due until September.

Well perhaps it is due to the lack of stock, or something more mystical, but the Xbox 360 sales for the week ending August 17th were more in keeping with the Microsoft Japanese experience.

1. NDS Lite – 78,666 [1,938,242]
2. PSP - 64,413 [2,497,036]
3. Wii - 53,036 [1,925,637]
4. PlayStation 3 - 11,393 [596,291]
5. PlayStation 2 - 10,168 [320,465]
6. Xbox 360 - 7,358 [123,151]
