During August, various short-term outages have occurred, affecting Mail, Back to My Mac, synchronisation, all of the web applications, and publishing from iWeb, iPhoto, iMovie and Aperture. The MobileMe status reports have been replaced with a revamped MobileMe page within the support section of Apple's web site. "This is the place to go if you’re experiencing a problem and want to know if it’s related to an issue with our servers," said Apple's "David G." "It's also the page to visit if you're looking for general information about setting up MobileMe on different computers and devices, for answers to frequently asked questions, and more," he added. Previously, system status could only be viewed after logging into MobileMe - this has been a source of considerable frustration during outages, especially those during the launch weekend: if you couldn't log in, there was no obvious way to tell if the problem was at your end or with the service itself. System Status is still displayed on users' MobileMe Account page. Also new is MobileMe News, again accessible without logging in to MobileMe, although there is a link to the page at the right end of the MobileMe toolbar.
