Page 1 of 2 T-Mobile, owned by German teclo giant Deutsche Telekom, is one of the big telecommunications companies in the US, competing against AT&T, Sprint and others, and is set to be the first telco to launch a Google Android phone anywhere in the world. The manufacturer of the phone has long been known to be Taiwanese smartphone powerhouse HTC (High Tech Computer), and the name of the phone is set to be the HTC Dream G1, or “Google One”, with a video of the device available here, accompanied by some heavy breathing that sounds like it’s being delivered by Darth Vader himself. TmoNews says that its information is coming from a “trusted source”, but all rumour mongers generally make that claim. There’s also the claim that early T-Mobile adopters will be able to buy the phone for US $150, available to genuine customers only (with staff not able to access this early deal) on September 17. The “full invoice” price is said to be US $399, which will become available to more consumers from the “beginning to mid October”, before a “national rollout” soon thereafter. TmoNews claims some people don’t like the “white” colour of the G1 Android Phone, but claims that it will also come in black, white or brown. When you look at the video, you see a large iPhone-style phone, with what TmoNews claims is a 5-inch by 3-inch screen (something that sounds almost TOO large and doesn’t look that large in the video). What else does the G1 offer? Please read on to page 2. |
