Will BigPond MP3 music deal hurt iTunes Store? E-mail
by Stephen Withers

Another aspect that could help BigPond achieve dominance over the iTunes Store is that - like Apple - it already has a network of retailers selling prepaid cards that do away with the need for a credit card when buying music online. Furthermore, some outlets have shown they are prepared to compete aggressively by offering the cards for as little as half of the face value.

BigPond Internet customers can also put music purchases on their bill.

So will BigPond Music prevail against iTunes? It's hard to be sure, but it certainly looks like a formidable contender.
