The sites involved include the official Georgian government sites for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence and the Mikhail Saakashvili presidential site. Access is either being blocked, or traffic redirected to servers in Russia and Turkey.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has apparently set up a Google hosted blog site as a temporary measure where it is posting details of the ongoing conflict.

The Shadowserver Foundation tracks malicious activity on the Internet, and has told reporters that it is "seeing new attacks against .ge sites. www.parliament.ge and president.gov.ge are currently being hit with HTTP floods."
