WinPwn 2.0.0.4 lets Windows users “pwn” iPhone OS 2.0.1

Page 1 of 3 ! Got an iPhone or iPod Touch, and want to “pwn” it so you can run unauthorised third party software? Apple mightn’t like it, but the power to pwn is in users’ hands! Also, what good unauthorised third party apps are out there? The PwnageTool 2.0.2 to pwn the iPhone OS 2.0.1 arrived a few days ago to great user delight, but it’s only for Mac users. Windows users need the newly updated WinPwn to do the same thing, unlocking and jailbreaking the iPhone 2G, and jailbreaking the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. iClarified has detailed “step by step” instructions with screenshots on what you need to do to successfully pwn your device, and by now there are plenty of forums online with all the details you need to solve issues, should you run into any of them. And while WinPwn and iClarified make it clear, it’s worth repeating: if you are going to use WinPwn, you MUST uninstall previous versions BEFORE installing the new version of WinPwn, and you must be using iTunes 7.7. One thing I’ve personally noticed after “pwnage” is the Safari browser switching to EDGE surfing, even if the Wi-Fi network is connected with the iPhone. It took me a little bit of stuffing around, turning the iPhone off and on, getting it to “forget this network” and more, until I realised I simply need to turn my WLAN router off and then on again. Doing that immediately restored balance to the force, and my web surfing was happening over Wi-Fi again, instead of over an EDGE connection.
