Page 1 of 2 The release followed the hiccup of an initial release that was quickly taken down after a bug was discovered which needed urgent squishing. The release was also delayed the day before because Installer 4 beta was essentially ready for public consumption, and the Dev Team didn’t want to release two versions of the PwnageTool in quick succession. Details of the iPhone Dev Team’s release plus hundreds of exited users giving users tips, advice and custom firmware download locations from is available here. The Dev Team admonished those who thought it was serious when its previous message suggested the team needed sleep, saying: “Did you think we’d sleep? really?”. Given that the PwnageTool 2.0.2 is only available for Macs, Windows users either need to download one of the custom firmware versions or wait for WinPwn to be updated, something that should happen quickly but could easily face a delay of a day or two. PwnageTool 2.0.2 users on Macs are given the following information by the iPhone Dev Team: “Recommended method for updating is Sparkle (the internal updater inside PwnageTool) or using the Finder to decompress the files, don’t use command line tools to decompress as incorrect use will not preserve permissions, just double click the download above in the Finder.” Please read on to page 2 for further instructions. |
