Some early adopters report overall speed improvements, notably in keyboard responsiveness, backup and synchronisation. There is also a suggestion that the iPhone Dev Team's Pwnage Tool (for jailbreaking and unlocking original iPhones and jailbreaking iPhone 3Gs and iPod touches) does not work with the new software. Complaints about the iPhone 2.0 software released last month include general slowness (compared with 1.x), low 3G signal strength (though it is not clear whether the issue is about actual signal strength or the calibration of the iPhone's display of the information), battery life, delays in starting the camera application, and a failure to remember that any given application had been given permission to access the phone's location. The main changes in 2.0 were support for the iPhone 3G hardware and for add-on applications from Apple and other developers sold through Apple's App Store.
