Dell makes grab for the Cloud Computing trademark E-mail

Which means, and I Am Not A Lawyer (let alone a trademark attorney), that as none of the people who are attorneys at the USPTO thought it worth bothering with to check why Dell should be claiming ownership of such a widely used generic term, that the complaints will have to wait until after the trademark has well and truly bolted.

I suspect that there will be plenty of people who can provide evidence of the harm that will be done to their business if Dell holds the cloud computing trademark, and therefore lodge a successful dispute motion.

Especially considering that the trademark will apply to all usage of the term rather than that specific to a Dell designed platform...

The current status of the application, in full, can be found by querying the USPTO Trademark Application and Registration Retrieval system.
