‘3’ brings 7GB plans to the mobile broadband table: is it enough? E-mail

Of course the move also demands a response from Telstra but for now we hold out little hope that its response will be naught but one of resounding silence.

So, 3 Mobile, thank you for pushing the boundaries of the mobile broadband revolution even further, although given you’re the only major telco that must charge extra for roaming services (something none of your competitors are lumbered with), surely a 10GB mobile cap will be coming sooner rather than later?

Let’s not forget that Unwired was offering a 12GB download two or three years ago, although originally only in Sydney and now in Melbourne.

Technically 3 Mobile won’t be first to break the 10GB wireless barrier. But they would be the first to do it on a 3.5G HSDPA network.

So yes, my prediction is that 3 Mobile will be the first to do it. It might be some months away yet, and might not even arrive until 2009. But arrive it surely will!
