Page 2 of 2 Well, you could buy an iPhone now, you could wait to see if Virgin does its thing, you could wait to see if 3 Mobile joins the iParty, or you could wait to see if Vodafone and Three decide to offer a better deal than the new “yes” Timeless plan that Optus has started offering. My guess is that in around 5 or so month we’ll probably see the introduction of a 32GB iPhone 3G, and potentially even price drops (in the US at least) for the 8GB and 16GB models. Then, in around 11 months time, unless Steve Jobs decides to surprise us at January’s Macworld 2009, it’ll be time for the next June WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). My money’s on Steve Jobs introducing the 2009 model of the next iPhone here, with a better battery, a higher megapixel digital camera, video recording as standard, videocall capabilities, a faster 3G chipset and 900MHz 3.5G frequency compatibility, a 64GB storage option and no doubt plenty more. Still, whatever you decide to do, be prepared to stump up some cash, and get ready for the inevitable day your cool new device is last year’s model!
