Online competitive intelligence service Hitwise has appointed Alan Long as its research director for Asia Pacific.

"Alan's marketing and advertising expertise together with his knowledge of the online industry is a great asset for our business" said Bill Tancer, general manager of global research.

Long was most recently state director for Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia at Sensis' MediaSmart division. He previously held senior positions at Frontier Media Active and BMCMedia.com.

"I am very excited about joining Hitwise and have been an advocate of the business since its inception," said Long. "I look forward to digging into the vast data Hitwise offers and growing the business within the Asia Pacific region."
