Popular iPhone applications are a waste of time E-mail

Well there's another pint of virtual beer at number 2, something to turn the iPhone into a Star Wars lightsabre at number 3 (and no, I am not making this up) with a musical game at number 6.

More madness at number seven, unless your idea of must have iPhone functionality is some virtual bubble-wrap, and a multi-colour strobe light simulator at nine. Moving down to 12, 13 and 14 we find Cube Runner, Moonlight Mahjong Light and iMaze games. Bringing up the rear there's a game called Break at 19 and that must have accessory an application that turns your iPhone into a flashlight (well, changes the screen to a solid block of colour with the brightness turned up anyway) at number 20.

Which, if my math is correct, means that of the top 40 most popular applications across both paid for and free categories no less than 24 of them are time wasters. Yes, there are some truly useful applications out there that fill the gaps left by Apple, that make you realise just how smart a smartphone can be. But the sad truth is that the majority of users, it would seem, are happier moving a cartoon monkey inside a ball around the screen or pretending to be a Jedi while waving their iPhone around in the air.
