So who deserves to be in our top five of stupid satnav users? Well there can be little doubt that Graham Foster has earned his place in the hall of satnav shame. The Mirror reports that he claimed his satnav was to blame for making him drive on the railway tracks in Northumberland, UK. A court heard how his delivery van, yes this twit was a professional delivery driver, crashed into an express train on the Newcastle to Carlisle railway line. Luckily none of the 45 passengers on board the train was hurt. The court, by the way, did not punish the satnav device but gave Foster a suspended jail term instead. He also earns position number five in our list.

Just as daft, and in at number four, we have the woman who managed to drive the wrong way up a UK motorway for no less than 14 miles in the fast lane as he satnav had ordered her so to do.

Straight in at number three has to be the ambulance crew which got lost driving to hospital in Lincolnshire, UK. Having collected the patient, who had collapsed suffering from heart and kidney problems, the faulty satnav unit failed to get the crew to the hospital in Grimsby, where they had only been once before. The paramedic who was attending to the 21 year old girl ended up climbing into the front to assist the driver. The father of the girl, following in his car, got to the hospital before the emergency ambulance. A spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service said that staff would get additional training to ensure they know where the hospitals are as a result.

So who has made it into the top two most stupid satnav drivers ever? Read on and all will be revealed...
