Page 2 of 2 Because RapidShare does not allow free users to download larger than a 200MB file at a time, some users have decided to become premium RapidShare users, while others have taken advantage of a RapidShare link that has the customised iPhone OS 2.0 firmware split into two parts. Another user in the comments stream has uploaded the complete file to Sendspace which apparently does not have the 200MB file size limitation and does not require payment to become a premium user. The comments stream continues growing by the minute with reports of success, explanations of what different users did to make it work, and whoops of joy as iPhone 2Gs now run the iPhone OS 2.0, able to make calls, send text messages, download Super Monkey Ball and more. Although a Windows version of the PwnageTool 2.0 will undoubtedly come in the form of WinPwn or ZiPhone or some other tool in the future, plenty of iPhone 2G owners can’t wait and are getting the iPhone OS 2.0 any way they can. There are also reports of both the separate iPhone 2G and 3G versions of the iPhone 2.0 firmware being available for download, as well as firmware for the iPod Touch. So... if you’re a Windows user and have an iPhone 2G or 3G and want to Pwn it, there is finally a way. Good luck and may the Pwnage be with you!
