5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
However, it’s clear from the iPhone Dev Team’s efforts that they have learned from the simplicity of Zibri’s ZiPhone software, and are working hard to make theirs just as easy to use as ZiPhone ever was. It seems likely that the iPhone 3G will soon be jailbroken, but not yet unlocked, although as soon as that is possible, the iPhone Dev Team will update their software to do that, too. That said it is expected that the iPhone 2G with iPhone OS 2.0 software will be unlockable and jailbreakable as soon as the iPhone Dev Team tool is released. Efforts will need to be made to convert the iPhone Dev Team’s software from a likely Mac only version to one that works on Windows computers too, forcing Windows using iPhone owners to seek out their Mac using friends for some unlock/jailbreak action. So from claims within 24 hours of the new iPhone being unlocked, the reality is that the programmers and coders continue tweaking what they have to make it work as smoothly as possible, so as to prevent the likelihood of anyone turning their iPhones into iBricks. The iPhone Dev Team must also have its eye on potential changes that Apple could have in mind for any upcoming iPhone OS 2.0.1 (or 2.1 or other new version), because of the niggling instabilities of the existing iPhone 2.0 upgrade. Any new version could disable the work the iPhone Dev Team has done to free the iPhone OS 2.0. At which point the unlock and jailbreak war/game of cat and mouse will Tom and Jerry itself into action all over again! |
