iiNet has deployed Juniper Networks VF-series session border controllers to support its new iinetphone VoIP service. According to iiNet CTO, Greg Bader, "Juniper Networks' VF-series provides service assurance and security features, making iinetphone calls virtually indistinguishable from traditional calls sent over a copper network. With the VF-series, we can economically provide our customers with a full range of telephony features." iiNet is installing multiple VF-series devices in its network to provide security features, service assurance and hosted NAT traversal, and is using the VF-series' security features, such as denial of service protection, to provide an additional layer of security for the VoIP service and its existing services. Shaun Page, vice president of Australia and New Zealand for Juniper Networks, said that the VF-Series would enable iiNet to "avoid many of the issues that can arise with VoIP rollouts, while at the same time assuring the security and performance of its new iinetphone service for customers." |
