5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
“I know you people are crazy about the iPhone but believe me, I am not. I think the 3g iPhone is not worth even buying for people who already have the first generation iPhone. “GPS ? I have a TomTom Go device. 3G data ? I have a 7.2 Mb/s card in my laptop. Apps ? I have my iPhone. Everything else ? I have my life ! “IF and WHEN there will be a new ZiPhone you will be informed. Stop asking, hating, begging. By the way, maybe you don't know the difference, but ZiPhone was a real hack. Software upgrades or custom firmwares are a totally different thing. A nice proof of concept, a nice work, but that's not hacking.. “But if that will ever be released and that suits your needs, use it. You'll be (hopefully) happy. “Another note: I'm being reported of many people faking me on many blogs and sites. Check the profile (if there's one). And don't take as gold any word from me that you don't read here ! “To any hacker out there: FACTS speaks louder than words. “Peace out, Zibri”. In the comments section of the iPhone Dev Team, Geohot and Zibri blogs has been a processing of users all whinging, whining, praising and damning each side in the race, begging each team to release their tool, pouring scorn on each team’s competitors and generally acting very childishly and impatiently – especially those with iPhone 2G models who raced to install the iPhone OS 2.0 without waiting for the unlock to be released first, and now unable to use their iPhones at all! So, for now, the iPhone Dev Team remains our best hope for an iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod Touch unlock for the somewhat buggy but nevertheless quite cool OS 2.0. After that, Apple will undoubtedly release a much more stable iPhone OS 2.01 (or similar), introducing a new “lock” to stymie the unlockers and get them working again hard once more. It’ll be Unlock Wars, Episode 3G: Apple’s Galactic iEmpire strikes back, set to leave users breathlessly awaiting the release of Unlock Wars: Return of the Unlock. Just like all those whining users out there wanting an iPhone OS 2.0 unlock and jailbreak, I too can’t wait and hope the iPhone Dev Team launches soon. But in the meantime, patience is a virtue and a true characteristic of any iJedi. So wait, iPadawans, wait. The iPhone hacker factions are more powerful than you could possibly imagine, and are finding your lack of faith disturbing. Good unlocks come to those who wait! |
