Page 3 of 3 Yes, that’s the same prices that you have to pay for data plans on the existing iPhone 3G plan selections, but if you can keep your voice cap plan with Telstra – if you have one – then at least calls are a much cheaper and/or better value proposition!It’s not the perfect solution and is still more expensive that Optus’ nice plans... but you do get to keep your existing cap plan if you are prepared to buy an iPhone from Telstra outright. And you get proper 850MHz 3.5G voice and data coverage to boot. So... the discovery is not paradise but it gives hope to existing Telstra customers that they may not need to ditch their plans after all, and it gives hope to business customers that Telstra iPhone 3G’s will be available on business plans soon too, after all, something that the day before the iPhone 3G launch seemed impossible. All of this is yet to be confirmed through a Telstra media spokesperson, I was unable to get through on Friday night, but will try on Monday to see if there is any possibility of official confirmation. Until then, if you want Telstra because you’re already on it – there seems to be hope after all you CAN get a better deal. Ah, Telstra. Makin’ it (not so) easy for you...
