Page 6 of 6 The angle below really shows off the different thicknesses of the three devices. Now the headphone socket problem is fixed, so that you can use your favourite headphones without an adaptor, you really do wonder why Apple bothered with the recessed jack on the original iPhone in the first place. Finally this is fixed. Shame it doesn't work with the original AV out cable, though. From this angle you can also see the phones' SIM card slots. With the iPhone 3G, instead of forcing you to use a pin, a fancy 'SIM card ejector tool' comes in the box (which is nothing but a glorified pin). All up,the iPhone 3G is a nice evolution of the original iPhone - although it's really the one we should have received in the first place. It's a shame Apple left out A2DP Bluetooth and didn't give us a removable battery among other features. Cut and paste, along with tethering to a notebook, would of also been useful. There's plenty more testing and evaluation to do over the next few days, such as trialling MobileMe, the Apps Store and the GPS feature. The iPhone 3G has landed, it's time to take it for a spin. ![]() How they stack up from the top
