Wordle is, according to its author and IBM researcher Jonathan Feinberg,  a toy for generating “word clouds” from any text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.

The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with anyone else, print the image for a T-shirt or business card,  poster or book cover ... whatever.

It's really simple to use. Wordle requires a web browser that can run Java applets. You must install Java if necessary (usually happens automatically and takes only a minute or two) and enable Java applets in your browser.

For example, using the following text from the wordle.net web site:

Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds. Wordle is a toy for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use in any way you choose.
You may take a Wordle, put it on your book cover, your t-shirt, your campaign poster, what have you. You may get rich off it. You may not use the text or design of the Wordle web site itself in any commercial enterprise. Wordle requires a web browser that can run Java applets. You must enable Java applets in your browser.

we get the following Wordle image:

Then by playing around with colors, fonts, and layouts (or by merely clicking the Randomize button) this can easily be morphed to something like this:
